Captain Harriett Pound is a Founding Member of FLIGHT DECK TO BOARDROOM™ and brings experience from both Commercial Aviation Operations and Aviation Safety. Harriett is also the CEO and Founder of Flight Deck Strategic Solutions, a team of Pilots and Organisation Development Experts that takes strategies from the Flight Deck into Business and Medicine through webinars, workshop and keynote speeches.
As an Airline Captain, Harriett has spent her career operating in environments where safety, teamwork and effective decision-making are critical. Alongside flying, she has worked in Aviation Safety, gaining insight into how organisations learn from incidents, manage risk and build cultures that support high performance.
Through FLIGHT DECK TO BOARDROOM, Harriett and the team help organisations apply practical lessons from aviation to everyday business challenges through immersive learning. She is particularly interested in how excellent leadership, clear communication and a strong culture of Psychological Safety can help teams perform at their best, especially when under pressure.
Harriett is passionate about making aviation’s hard-earned lessons accessible and relevant to leaders across all industries, helping organisations build resilience, improve decision-making and create environments where people and teams can thrive.
Outside of work, Harriett enjoys running and going to the gym, and completed the London Marathon in 2025 and 2026 in support of the charity, Whizz Kidz. She is married to a fellow Airline Pilot and together they have two young children, who ensure life away from aviation is just as busy and rewarding.
Howard Atkins is a Founding Member of FLIGHT DECK TO BOARDROOM™.
Howard has 30 years’ experience consulting to organisations around the world. He helps managers develop their leadership capability, and assists leadership teams to develop their ability to think strategically and work effectively together. Howard has worked with a wide range of organisations in over 35 countries in the private, public, health and not-for-profit sectors. He has taught extensively at Master’s degree level at business schools in UK and Europe.
Howard has a particular interest in working with corporations operating in safety critical environments, with extensive experience in rail, nuclear, health and global aid organisations. He is passionate about helping leaders and teams develop the psychological safety necessary to make effective, safe decisions under challenging conditions.
Howard is also a Director of Voyager Flight simulation Ltd, which he founded with Paul Lang to bring the experience of flying to the widest possible audience. As a lifelong aviation enthusiast, Howard loves sharing the joy of flying with people from all walks of life. In cooperation with Harriett and her team, Howard is able to combine his Organisation Development expertise with lessons from real world commercial pilots. Translating and applying learning from the flight deck to businesses in all sectors is his passion.
When not consulting or flying, Howard enjoys spending time dog walking in the local countryside, cooking for friends & family, and travelling the world.

Paul Lang
Paul Lang’s passion for aviation began at an early age. Inspired by his father, who spent his entire career in the aviation industry and aspired to become a commercial pilot, Paul developed a lifelong fascination with flight.
While he initially dreamed of becoming a pilot himself, Paul chose to pursue another creative passion and built a successful career as a highly respected professional photographer, specialising in social, portrait and wedding photography.
Despite his success behind the camera, aviation remained a constant interest. After undertaking fixed-wing flying lessons, Paul went on to learn to fly helicopters at Elstree Aerodrome. This rekindled passion led him into the world of flight simulation, where he completed an intensive year-long Boeing 737 simulator instructor programme. It was during this journey that he met Howard, and together they went on to establish and develop Voyager Flight Simulation at London Luton Airport.
Today, Paul is passionate about using Voyager’s exceptional facilities to inspire, engage and develop people from all backgrounds. His creativity and ability to design immersive experiences, combined with Hariett’s commercial aviation and safety expertise and Howard’s extensive leadership development background, help create powerful learning environments where individuals and teams can strengthen communication, enhance decision-making and perform at their very best, particularly in complex, high-pressure situations.
